Learning to focus on the here and now can help to improve concentration and regular mindful practice can boost our feelings of wellbeing. 

Mindfulness podcasts

Our ÉëÒ÷Ö®Íõ Mindfulness practitioners have also produced a series of  for you. They are a useful resource you can choose to access at any time. Each one offers a guided meditation that will help you to take a break and connect with your breathing.

Student Space

 is available to all higher education students across England and Wales. Student Space is a trusted place to:

  • Access confidential support via text, phone, email and webchat
  • Explore online resources
  • Find help available at university

For phone support, call on 0808 189 5260. This is a freephone number, open from 4pm to 11pm, offering listening support, information and onward signposting.

 Access the from 4pm to 11pm every day to talk to a trained supporter who will listen and help you talk through any issues you are experiencing.

To start a conversation via , text ‘STUDENT’ to 85258. Get 24/7 support from a trained volunteer. It’s free, confidential and anonymous. Whether you’re experiencing depression, anxiety, loneliness or relationship issues, they are here to listen and support you.

Every Mind Matters

The Samaritans have launched a new to help you keep track of how you're feeling, as well as get recommendations for things you can do to help yourself cope, feel better and stay safe in a crisis.

Tellmi

Our ÉëÒ÷Ö®Íõ students can now access a new service called Tellmi.  provides free digital mental health support, 365 days a year to anyone aged 11+ across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

It is a safe, anonymous app where you can talk to people your age who get what you are going through or join conversations that matter to you. If you need professional support, their in-house counsellors are available 365 days a year.

Why not download the app, join the community and start connecting with real people who understand what you are going through.

Unite 

Students living in accomodation provided by Unite also have access to a student wellbeing helpline 0800 032 1029. This is available 24/7 and provides counselling support and advice on a range of topics such as student life and health and lifestyle. Legal, financial and and medical information is available 9am - 9pm, 7 days a week.
