Academic scholarships

Access to Higher Education Scholarship
We are offering £1,000 cash per year (excluding placement years) to home students studying full time and paying a tuition fee of £9,000 or £9,250. The Access to Higher Education Scholarship is available if you are accepted onto a course with an Access to HE qualification (where it is an entry requirement for the course). .
There is no separate application process for the Access Scholarship. Eligible students are automatically identified and contacted before they start their studies at ÉëÒ÷Ö®Íõ.

Unite Foundation Scholarship
The Unite Foundation Scholarship is now open for 2023/24.
The is jointly offered by ÉëÒ÷Ö®Íõ and the Unite Foundation. The scholarship offers care leaver and estranged students a free student bedroom in Newarke Point for a maximum of three years of eligible study.

The Stoneygate Scholarship
The Stoneygate Trust Scholarship is dedicated to providing ÉëÒ÷Ö®Íõ students from a low income or disadvantaged background with monetary awards that will assist them in obtaining at least a grade of 2:1 in their degree programme.
Stoneygate Trust funding will help 3 students from disadvantaged backgrounds per year for the next 3 intakes of students. The scholarship will provide £3,000 per academic year from the trust, with an additional £1,000 per academic year drawn from existing ÉëÒ÷Ö®Íõ funds.

Article 26 Scholarship
Students seeking asylum in the UK are not able to apply for funding from the Student Loans Company and are charged international student fees. ÉëÒ÷Ö®Íõ offers eight Article 26 Scholarships for undergraduate students unable to access funding.
Please note: the Article 26 Scholarship is only available to students looking to start an undergraduate level programme.
The Article 26 Scholarship consists of:
- A full fee waiver for the duration of the course
- Plus a £3,500 contribution towards living costs per year (or £500 if you are in the care of your local authority)
- One Article 26 Scholarship recipient will also be eligible for free accommodation in a ÉëÒ÷Ö®Íõ hall of residence for three years (subject to availability). The recipient must be under the age of 25 on 1 September 2021 to receive this element.

Care Leavers' Bursary
We are offering £1,000 cash per year to home students studying full time and paying a tuition fee of £9,000 or £9,250. The Care Leavers' Bursary is available to eligible students who come to the University directly from care.

Estranged Students' Bursary
We are offering £1,000 cash per year to home students studying full time and paying a tuition fee of £9,000 or £9,250. The Estranged Students' Bursary is available to eligible students who are estranged from their family and have no other source of income.
