Students have rated aspects of the teaching at ÉëÒ÷Ö®Íõ Leicester (ÉëÒ÷Ö®Íõ) as some of the best in the country, in a national survey.
The National Student Survey (NSS) is filled out by graduates from universities across the country, posing them a series of questions about their studies.
This year, students at ÉëÒ÷Ö®Íõ have rated the university particularly highly for subjects including Politics, Pharmacy and Performing Arts.
Some of the highlights of the 2023 survey revealed that ÉëÒ÷Ö®Íõ students had rated the university the best in the country at feeding back quickly on assessments in Politics, and Language and Area Studies
The university was also rated in the top ten in the country for encouraging Performing Arts students to achieve their best work; for ease in accessing subject-specific resources in Economics; for how often the Pharmacy course is intellectually stimulating; and for how often feedback helped students in their studies in Architecture.
Performing Arts students also rated the university in the top ten nationally for the learning opportunities it provides. In Pharmacy, ÉëÒ÷Ö®Íõ was ranked in the top five universities in the country for the way De Montfort Students’ Union represented students’ academic interests.
Pharmacy students also rated ÉëÒ÷Ö®Íõ in the top 10 for how well the course developed their knowledge and skills, and the way in which assessments allowed them to demonstrate what they have learned.

Vice-Chancellor, Professor Katie Normington said: “The National Student Survey is one of the best pieces of feedback we get as a university because it is based entirely on what students are thinking, giving their honest appraisal of our teaching.
“Being rated so highly in some of these areas is very rewarding and shows that students really value our approach to creating an empowering university.
“For this I have our staff to thank, who have worked so hard over the past year to deliver some brilliant and ambitious teaching, alongside helping to introduce our new block teaching approach, Education 2030.
“But there are also many responses which show how and where we can improve our teaching and support, and it is these insights which make the survey so valuable.”
