Personal profile

Dr. Hui Yu’s Ph.D research examined individual and cultural differences in habitual usage of emotion regulation strategies in relationship with their associated psychological and physiological consequences.

Currently Dr. Yu is interesed in the following areas: 

1) how the situation influences one’s emotional experience and its effect on well-being. 

2) the relationship between personality and online behaviours

Research interests/expertise

Dr. Hui Yu is interested in people’s habitual usage of different emotion regulation strategies in relationship with one’s well-being.

Dr. Yu is also interested in knowing how culture influences one’s preference of emotion regulation and emotion expression.

In addition, Dr. Yu is exploring how to apply psychological findings to better serve the society such as in youth level of service assessment and child protection.
