Prina gained both her degree and PhD at ÉëÒ÷Ö®Íõ. Her PhD was completed under the supervision of Professor Zeeshan Ahmad and focused on utilising the engineering method of electrohydrodynamic atomisation to develop drug-eluting coatings for contact lenses for the treatment of glaucoma.
In 2017, during the final year of her PhD, Prina was appointed as a Post-Doctoral Research Assistant at ÉëÒ÷Ö®Íõ. Here, she balanced finishing her PhD and continued her research in ocular drug delivery whilst also expanding her research into transdermal drug delivery and cosmetic formulation. She also helped Prof. Ahmad co-supervise PhD students and undergraduate students whilst helping review and write research articles and grants.
She joined the faculty as a full time lecturer in the summer of 2020 focusing on advanced process technologies and new approaches to drug delivery whilst delving into various unit operations in the development and manufacture of pharmaceutical products. Her teaching also focuses on cosmetic formulation and further studies in cosmetic science.
