Personal profile

I currently serve as an Associate Professor and Lead of the Finance Subject Group at the School of Accounting, Finance & Economics at ÉëÒ÷Ö®Íõ (ÉëÒ÷Ö®Íõ). Additionally, I hold the role of Associate Editor at three esteemed journals, the International Journal of Finance and Economics (ABS 3 Rated Journal), Business Strategy and the Environment (ABS 3 Rated Journal) and Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management (ABS 1 Rated Journal). Before assuming my current position, I held the role of Associate Head of Research & Enterprise in the School of Accounting, Finance, and Economics at ÉëÒ÷Ö®Íõ. My journey at Leicester Business School began in November 2016, transitioning from Richmond, The American University in London, where I worked as an Assistant Professor of Mathematics and Economics. Prior to my tenure at Richmond, I served as a Lecturer at Leeds Beckett University. My teaching and research interests span a wide range of topics, including corporate finance, corporate governance, credit market performance, fintech, corporate sustainability, and stakeholder engagement. I have taught various modules such as corporate finance, financial econometrics, international accounting and finance issues, liquidity and financial risk management, and research methods to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. In addition to my roles at ÉëÒ÷Ö®Íõ, I also held a visiting scholar position at the Sunwah International Business School (Liaoning University) in Shenyang, China. I maintain a deep-seated passion for finance and management, and my extensive publication record reflects this, with contributions to numerous internationally recognised journals including the Journal of Financial Research, International Journal of Finance and Economics, International Review of Financial Analysis, Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, Managerial Finance, Journal of Business Research, International Business Review, International Small Business Journal, and Venture Capital. My educational background includes a PhD in Accounting and Finance from York Management School, an MSc with Merit in Finance from Leeds Business School, and a BA with First Class honours from the University of Ghana. Additionally, I hold a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
